In this Leapfrog Geo Tutorial, I am going to show you how to bring points data into Leapfrog Geo. There are ways to import data into Leapfrog Geo. And today, we will import points via ODBC. ODBC is a bridge that allow a program to communicate to various database system. We can set up and connect Leapfrog to PostgreSQL, MS Access, Oracle via ODBC. If you are new to ODBC, I would recommend the following Wiki article of ODBC.

Before we can import points into Leapfrog via ODBC, we need to set up an ODBC connection first. Read the following tutorial to create an ODBC Connection in Windows 10.
Steps to Import Points into Leapfrog via ODBC
Step 1. Create and set up the ODBC
Skip this step if you have set up the ODBC connection to your database. If not, please navigate to the link above to learn how to create a new ODBC connection. In this example, I use PostgreSQL as my back end database.
Step 2. Import Points in Leapfrog
Open your Leapfrog project, or create a new project if you don’t have it yet.
- Right-click Points from the LF project tree
- Click Import Points via ODBC
- Select the ODBC connection from the list
- Optionally, you will also need to provide the database connection authentication.
- Click OK
- Select the table to export and press OK
