Hello everyone, welcome to my Micromine tutorial. Today, we are going to learn how to clip string to a polygon on Micromine. You may wondering why we want to clip string file? Well, in some cases when we have a huge string file covering a large area, it may take long time for Micromine to load it. Or, you may want to send some portions of the area to your clients and you don’t want to send the whole area. Or you can clip your files whatever reason you may have.
Steps to Clip String to a Polygon on Micromine
On this tutorial, we will open the string file, and then create the polygon to cut the string with. Watch the following animated picture to open the file and create a polygon.
Now we will use the new polygon file we created, to cut the contour (string file). Now go to String | Clip | To Polygon.
Specify the string file you want to clip and also the clipping polygon. Don’t forget to specify the output file and how you will save the output file.
