In this article, we will show you how to export layer to GPX in ArcGIS Pro. ArcGIS Pro supports many spatial file types including GPX. It can open the GPX file directly but when we want to export to GPX, there are few steps that we need to take. Please take a note that GPX does not support polygon feature class. It only supports tracks (lines), routes (lines) and points. GPX, or GPS Exchange Format, is widely used for storing and exchanging location data.
Steps to Export Layer to GPX in ArcGIS Pro
Step 1. Prepare your data
Before exporting the data, make sure you have the layer opened in ArcGIS Pro. Double-check the attribute data. Not all the information in the layer can be transformed into GPX. In this example, I will try to export a point layer to GPX. Also, GPX uses the Longitude and Latitude coordinate. If your source layer is in UTM, it will be converted automatically.
Step 2. Export to GPX
To start exporting the layer, go to Analysis | Tools. Search for “Features to GPX” tool. Specify the input features and output GPX file.
In the Name Field, we can provide the field that has the unique name for each point. Click Run to start the export process. Additionally, you may want to change the Environment variables such as the export extent, etc.
Make sure there is no error. Now we can try to upload the GPX file to our GPX and check if everything works. Thanks for reading and until next time.
