Welcome to Micromine Tutorial. Today, I am going to show you how to export Micromine data file to CSV (Comma delimited file). Not many other GIS software can read Micromine data file (.DAT). But when we export the data to a more general format such as CSV, then we can use this file on other GIS software or MS Excel. I am using the Micromine Example data which you can download it for free.
Steps to Export Micromine Data to CSV
Even it is not mandatory, but we recommend you to open the data file first and make sure your data is clean and ready for exporting. On this example, I am going to export the file A_Collar.DAT.
Next, go to File | Export | Text. It will open the Export Text Files window. In the input file, select the file you want to export. Optionally, you can also apply filter to the data you want to export. Select the Text file format from the list. In this example, I choose Comma Delimited.
Check the option Write field names to the first record. By checking this option, the file will have field names corresponding to your source file. Finally, specify the Output path. Click Run and in a moment, your CSV file should be ready.
