Hello everyone, today we are going to continue our ArcGIS learning. In this article, you will learn how to import layer to Microsoft SQL Server from ArcGIS. I am using ArcGIS 10.6 full version in this tutorial. ArcGIS works very well with the SQL Server. Before we can import or export layer to ArcGIS, we need to create a new database connection from ArcGIS.
I would recommend you to read this article to create a new SQL Server connection from ArcGIS 10.6. Or, you can also watch the following video to create a new SQL Server database connection on ArcGIS.
Once you have set up the connection, we can now import our layer or feature class to SQL Server. To do this, follow these steps.
- Open ArcGIS
- Right-click the SQL Server database connection and click Import
- Choose Feature Class (Single) if you want to import a single layer only. Or choose the Feature Class (Multiple) to upload multiple files at once.
- Browse the input feature class
- Specify the output feature class name
- Click OK
That’s it. I hope you enjoy the tutorial and see you.
