Hello everyone, welcome to my Micromine tutorial. Today, we are going to learn how to display ESRI Shapefile (.shp) on Micromine. It is important to know that Micromine is capable to display the native SHP file without having to import it first. But yes, it depends on your needs. If you need to edit the SHP file in Micromine, you have to import the shapefile first. By displaying shapefile in Micromine, you cannot edit the file in Micromine.
Steps to display shapefile in Micromine
- Open Micromine
- Double click CAD/GIS from the Vizex forms.
- Browse the .shp file on the Input data tab. Micromine will automatically detect the features in the shapefile. But you are free to select which features to display.
- To change the line properties, go to Lines tab and modify the lines properties from there. If your shapefile contains points or polygon, go to Points and Polygon tab.
Here you can change the lines, points and polygon preferences. - Click OK
Note:
Micromine can also convert the Geographic coordinate to UTM if you want. Go to UTM tab and you can configure the coordinate conversion from there.
