Hello, welcome to my QGIS Tutorial website. Today, I am going to export layer to PostGIS on QGIS. As you know PostGIS is a powerful spatial extension that will turn your PostgreSQL into a spatially enabled database. You can store many vector layers in your PostgreSQL from QGIS. I am using QGIS version 3.2. Before we jump into the tutorial, you will need to install PostgreSQL server and enable PostGIS on your PostgreSQL database.
Steps to Export Layer to PostGIS on QGIS
First, let’s open a vector layer in QGIS. For example, I have a contour layer opened in my QGIS canvas.
Now I am going to export this Contour layer to my PostGIS database using the Import into PostGIS tool. You can open this tool from the Processing Toolbox in QGIS. See the following animation for better visualization.
That’s it. Thank you for your visit.
