Hello everyone, welcome to QGIS Tutorial for Beginners. In this article, we are going to learn about how to generate contour from an elevation grid in QGIS. In the previous article, we’ve learned how to create an elevation grid from data points. You can check out my tutorial below:

Even the grid was generated using other software, we still can open it in QGIS very easy.

Steps to Generate Contour from an Elevation Grid in QGIS

  1. Open the grid in QGIS canvas
  2. Go to Raster >> Extraction >> Contour
  3. Specify the input layer and contour interval
  4. Click OK
