Hello everyone, welcome to my Micromine Tutorial. In this article, we are going to learn how to digitize points in Micromine. In other words, we will show you how to create points in Micromine by digitizing the points on screen. So let assume we do not have any data (X, Y and Z) yet. The good thing about Micromine, everytime we create or digitize points, it will automatically generate the X, Y information.
Digitizing points in Micromine is an essential skill for geologists, surveyors, and mining professionals who rely on precise geospatial data. Whether you’re mapping drillhole locations, creating topographical surveys, or inputting key geographical features, this guide will walk you through the process of digitizing points in Micromine with ease and accuracy.
In the following video, you will see how I create some points by digitizing the points directly from the Vizex. If you already have the data file, you can display your data as points in Vizex.
Once we created the points, we can save it to a new file, change it’s properties such as change symbol, size and color.
This is just a very simple example. You can also georeference your map/raster into Micromine and then digitize the point based on that raster.
Display Points in Vizex
To display points data in Vizex, you can simply double click Points form sets. Specify the point data, east field, north field and z field as shown below.
Swithc to Points tab where you can change the point appearance such as symbol, size and so on.
Finally, your point layer now should be visible in the Vizex window.
